The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
SlabRock fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cigan avoids it really well and circles away.
Cigan closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Cigan takes the fight into the clinch.
SlabRock tries to pull guard but Cigan won't allow it.
SlabRock has Cigan pressed against the cage, preventing Cigan from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Cigan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cigan blocks an elbow strike.
SlabRock has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cigan after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slate SlabRock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A frustrated look appears on Cigan's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cigan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
SlabRock prevents Cigan from breaking the clinch.

SlabRock drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cigan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cigan leaves SlabRock with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

SlabRock shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cigan as he jumps to the side.
SlabRock slips a jab and a cross from Cigan.
Cigan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Cigan moves into the clinch.
SlabRock has Cigan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cigan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Cigan tries to break free but SlabRock pushes him back against the cage.
SlabRock prevents Cigan from breaking the clinch.
Cigan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
SlabRock tries for a takedown but Cigan manages to get underhooks.

SlabRock has Cigan pressed against the cage, preventing Cigan from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Cigan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

SlabRock trying to control the position but instead, Cigan has worked for underhooks and has pushed SlabRock into the cage.

SlabRock manages to break the clinch.
Cigan gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Cigan tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but SlabRock is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Cigan buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Cigan!! Cigan is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. SlabRock throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Slate SlabRock!
After the fight, Slate SlabRock was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
