The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Hooven uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tyson.

Van Hooven escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tyson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tyson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Van Hooven looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Van Hooven looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Van Hooven!

Van Hooven decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tyson to his feet.
Tyson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Van Hooven gets to his feet and stands over Tyson, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Tyson felt that one! Van Hooven unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Tyson from any more punishment!
