Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Rautner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lenny Bova!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bova misses with a leg kick
and Rautner counters with a straight right hand.
Bova scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bova avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bova will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Rautner pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rautner lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Left hook, right uppercut from Bova.
Rautner misses with a takedown
and Bova counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rautner darts in and clinches Bova up against the cage.
Rautner is working for takedown but Bova is calmly controlling the position for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rautner wants to get back to striking at distance but Bova won't allow it.
Rautner dodges an elbow strike from Bova.
Bova lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Chris Rautner has been cut.
Bova gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rautner.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Rautner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rautner fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bova just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rautner's brow.
A knee to the head by Bova.
Bova is looking to control Rautner's arms but Rautner gets an underhook and turns him. Now Bova has his back to the cage.
Rautner avoids the elbow strike from Bova, against the cage.
Bova pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Bova stalls.
Rautner takes an elbow to the temple.
Rautner goes for a takedown attempt but Bova pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bova lunges at Rautner with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rautner's hand.
Lenny Bova is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A head kick misses from Bova.
Bova lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rautner's sensitive parts.
Rautner walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rautner stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bova.
Bova scores with a nice strike.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rautner takes a kick to the side of the head.
Rautner is rocked!
Rautner scoring well with a low kick there.
Rautner walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Oh Rautner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rautner shoots in for a takedown but Bova shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rautner tries to clinch but Bova moves out of range.
Bova connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rautner momentarily.
Chris Rautner's cut is getting worse.
Bova lands a brutal head kick. Rautner looks out on his feet and Bova throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Lenny Bova!
