Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rock Blesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rock Blesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Boyd!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyd throws a series of punches but Blesnar moves out of range.
Blesnar stuffs the takedown.
Good leg kick by Boyd there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd cheers as Blesnar lands an impressive looking overhand right. Boyd doesn't seem phased though.
Blesnar misses with a double jab
and Boyd counters with a nice low kick that buckles Blesnar's knee momentarily.
Blesnar misses with a straight left.
Blesnar fails with an attempt to clinch.
Blesnar misses with a looping left.
Boyd circles away from the clinch attempt
and Boyd counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Blesnar misses the shot to the body.

Blesnar instigates a clinch.
Blesnar tries a body shot but Boyd blocks it.
Blesnar tries to circle away but Boyd has him pinned against the cage.

Boyd pulls guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Blesnar trying to control but Boyd is working from the bottom.
Boyd pulls Blesnar in close to his closed guard and prevents Blesnar from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blesnar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rock Blesnar just wasn't active enough.
Boyd closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Boyd lands a head kick. Blesnar smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Rock Blesnar has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blesnar misses with a series of wild punches.
Boyd misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Boyd throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Blesnar connects with the punch.
Blesnar looks to land a combination but Boyd avoids it well.
Blesnar wants to clinch.

and Boyd counters with an outside leg kick.
Blesnar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Boyd.

Boyd instigates a clinch.
Boyd looking to throw knees to the head but Blesnar is blocking nicely.
Boyd tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Blesnar avoids it.

Boyd has had enough of the clinch but Blesnar keeps him there for the moment.
Boyd misses with a hook from the clinch.
Boyd's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Blesnar misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Boyd.
Boyd lands with a left to the head.
Boyd swings wildly with an uppercut but Blesnar uses good head movement to avoid it.
Boyd wants a takedown but no success here.
Blesnar lands a body punch in the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Blesnar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Blesnar lands a nice hook to Boyd's body. Boyd takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Blesnar has managed to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rock Blesnar will probably get the nod.

That's time! Back to the action!

Boyd throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Blesnar clinches up against the cage.
Boyd looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Blesnar's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Blesnar jumps into guard, dragging Boyd to the mat.
Boyd postures up.
Blesnar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Boyd is controlling him.
Boyd pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blesnar is keeping the position for now.

Boyd got a little sloppy there for a moment and Blesnar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boyd has managed to get both his arms back between Blesnar's legs - danger averted.

Boyd postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Boyd is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Blesnar looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Boyd drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boyd jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boyd is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Blesnar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Boyd looks up at the clock and then as Blesnar takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Boyd smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Blesnar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Blesnar tries to get out of the position.
Boyd connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Blesnar some visible discomfort.

Blesnar takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Boyd throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Boyd is working to tighten is grip on Blesnar's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Blesnar has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Boyd is really squeezing tight and eventually Blesnar passes out! Boyd breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
