The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jingleheimer Shmidt tries to keep at a distance but Steyer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Steyer wants to get back to striking at distance but Jingleheimer Shmidt won't allow it.
Jingleheimer Shmidt fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Steyer breaks from the clinch.
Steyer swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jingleheimer Shmidt.

Jingleheimer Shmidt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Steyer sprawls well initially but Jingleheimer Shmidt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Steyer is trying to get back to full guard.

Jingleheimer Shmidt wants to pass the guard but Steyer is defending well.
Jingleheimer Shmidt is nestled in close to Steyer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Steyer is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jingleheimer Shmidt pulls his head out easily.

Jingleheimer Shmidt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jingleheimer Shmidt manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jingleheimer Shmidt has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jingleheimer Shmidt lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Steyer quite badly. Steyer pulls Jingleheimer Shmidt in close trying to recover. Jingleheimer Shmidt postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Steyer on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Steyer doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
