PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Medofe Canana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Monzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canana comes to the cage accompanied by festa memes. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ramon Monzon was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monzon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Canana's waist but Canana gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Monzon off to one side.
Monzon has a takedown stuffed.
Monzon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Canana sprawls well. Canana wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Monzon gets slowly back to his feet.
Medofe Canana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramon Monzon.
Monzon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Monzon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Canana as he jumps to the side.

Canana throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Canana tries to close the distance and clinch up but Monzon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Canana throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Monzon.

Canana catches Monzon napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Monzon to the canvas!

Monzon is rocked!

Canana thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Canana drops back looking for a leg! Monzon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monzon manages to kick Canana off! Canana jumps back into Monzon's guard.
Canana passes Monzon's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Canana wants to work for an arm triangle but Monzon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Monzon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Canana. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Canana works his way into side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Canana is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Monzon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
