Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Benji Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Benji Silva has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benji Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Lynch!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lynch.
Lynch fails with a takedown attempt.

Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lynch's efforts to push away.
Lynch is looking to take this one to the mat.
Benji Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Lynch.
Lynch goes for a takedown attempt but Silva pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lynch closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Lynch pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lynch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lynch not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Silva manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lynch is looking to improve his position but Silva isn't that keen on the idea.
Silva throwing strikes here but Lynch is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lynch content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva keeping moving, preventing Lynch from controlling successfully.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lynch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lynch shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Lynch which made him look bad.

Lynch looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Lynch persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.

Lynch sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Lynch tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Chris Lynch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Silva scores with a nice body kick.
Silva leaves Lynch with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Silva moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Lynch closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Lynch getting side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lynch misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Lynch bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lynch but Lynch pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Lynch shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lynch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Silva wants to get back to full guard but Lynch has passed into side control.
