PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norris has chosen Kryptonite as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Chuck Norris was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Norris!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris scores with a spinning back kick!
Norris feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kennedys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kennedy shoots in looking for a takedown. Norris tries to sprawl out of it but Kennedy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Norris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Norris lands with a right hand.
Norris connects with a solid leg kick.
Kennedy fails with a takedown attempt.
Kennedy throws a body kick that misses.

Norris clinches up against the cage.
Kennedy fails to pull guard.

Kennedy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Norris defends it easily.

Kennedy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Norris circles away.

Kennedy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Kennedy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Norris, who protects the arm well.
Kennedy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kennedy tries to score with some ground and pound. Norris controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Norris is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kennedy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Norris has his feet on Kennedy's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Kennedy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Norris throws out the jab.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Kennedy tries to pull guard but Norris holds him up against the cage and eventually Kennedy drops back down to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
