The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne fails with the takedown
and Payne takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Billy Payne has been cut.
Takabashi just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Takabashi. No joy for Payne on that attempt.
Payne shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Payne takes one to the chin there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Takabashi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Takabashi is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Payne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Takabashi tries to avoid it but Payne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Takabashi to the ground. Takabashi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Daisuke Takabashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Payne.
Takabashi throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A solid leg kick lands there for Takabashi.
Payne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Takabashi tries to avoid it but Payne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Takabashi to the ground. Takabashi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Takabashi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Payne stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Payne looks winded!

Takabashi scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Takabashi scores with a punch to the head.
Payne takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Takabashi moves into the clinch successfully.
Payne is looking for a takedown.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Takabashi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Takabashi takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Takabashi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Takabashi lands a big head kick that sends Payne tumbling to the mat! Takabashi takes a step backwards and waves Payne back to his feet - he wants the finish!

That has opened up Billy Payne's cut even more.
Takabashi lands a nice shot to the body.
Takabashi getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

The cut above Billy Payne's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Takabashi scores with a hook to the body. Payne takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Takabashi lands a front kick.

Takabashi throws a nice inside leg kick.

Takabashi sends Payne crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Takabashi is motioning to the referee to let Payne up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Payne is rocked!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Takabashi, right into the meat.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Takabashi! Payne is out on his feet! Takabashi rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Payne is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Payne is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
