PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nintendo Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Roshan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damian Roshan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Damian Roshan!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roshan lands a nice looking body shot.

Roshan is trying to break the clinch but Takada has him pressed against the ropes.
Takada fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Roshan wants to break free but Takada has control.
Takada tries to pull guard but Roshan won't allow it.
Takada has Roshan pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Roshan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Damian Roshan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Roshan looks to land a combination but Takada avoids it well.

Takada drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Roshan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Takada has Roshan in his guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Roshan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roshan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

and Takada counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Roshan!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Roshan has left one of his arms exposed and Takada doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Roshan screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
