PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Scofield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fredick Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scofield comes into the arena with Prison Break blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fredick Koch!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koch drives through with a takedown into Scofield's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Scofield is controlling Koch's posture.
Koch wants to stand but Scofield is controlling his posture from full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scofield fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Koch sprawls well initially but Scofield persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Koch looks like he's trying to stand up.
Koch throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Scofield manages to pass to side control.

Scofield is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Koch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Scofield swings around for an armbar but Koch sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Scofield's guard.

and Koch counters with a body kick that stops Scofield in his tracks momentarily.
Scofield needs to keep his hands up - Koch had a free shot at his head there.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michael Scofield will probably get the nod.
That's time! Scofield's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Koch moves in looking to clinch but Scofield pushes him off.
Koch feints a jab promting Scofield to slip. Koch then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Scofield slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Michael Scofield has been cut.

Scofield feints and as Koch raises his hands in defense, Scofield changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Scofield has gone for a leg lock! Koch slips out almost immediately though and dives into Scofield's guard.

Scofield has a closed guard, preventing Koch from standing up.

Scofield had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Koch defends it easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fredick Koch was stalling too much, according to the referee.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michael Scofield.
Scofield shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Koch as he jumps to the side.

and Koch counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Michael Scofield.
I think Scofield has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In defeat, Fredick Koch stepped up to the mic, saying 'Thank you for that fight, i will pratice to beat you someday !'.
