Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dasarath Dongol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dasarath Dongol has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Dasarath Dongol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Darren Russell!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russell checks a low kick from Dongol.
Dongol looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Russell gets a takedown into half guard.
Russell performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Darren Russell was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Russell shoots in but Dongol avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dongol shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Russell but Russell pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Dongol gets caught napping as Russell dives in and scores a takedown. Dongol manages to retain guard.
Russell engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Russell works over Dongol with some ground and pound from guard.
Russell controlling from the top position.

Dongol working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Russell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Russell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Russell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dongol sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Russell somewhat.
Russell has a takedown stuffed.
Dasarath Dongol has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Russell.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Russell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Russell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dongol, up you get!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Russell.
Russell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dongol defends it nicely.
Russell shoots in looking for a takedown. Dongol tries to sprawl out of it but Russell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dongol manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Russell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dongol's waist but Dongol gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Russell off to one side.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dongol.

Russell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dongol is not content to let Russell control the position.
Dongol looks to move to half guard but instead Russell has passed into mount! Damn!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Russell looking for a guillotine from mount but Dongol is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darren Russell dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Dongol counters with a big head kick but Russell shrugs it off.
Dongol will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Russell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dongol circles away.
Dongol leaves Russell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dongol tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Russell manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dongol on his heels. He'll look to pass Dongol's guard now, I'm sure.

Dongol knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Russell on the ground.
Dongol not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dongol has his foot on Russell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Russell works his way back into a safe position though.

Russell distracts Dongol with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Russell wants to control from the top but Dongol keeps moving.

Dongol is looking for a triangle but Russell pushes his legs off easily.

Russell gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Russell is defended easily by Dongol.
Russell fails with a takedown attempt.

Dongol stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dongol wants it to stay on the feet.
Russell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dongol as he avoids it easily.
Dongol looks to land a combination but Russell avoids it well.

Russell scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dongol trying to control but Russell postures up.

Russell is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dongol has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dongol is trying to get back to full guard.

Russell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Russell controlling the pace.
Russell working the head and body with strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darren Russell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Russell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dongol is trying to defend but Russell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Dongol is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Russell scores with a couple of nice shots.
Russell controlling the action here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Darren Russell has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Russell dives in and scores a takedown into Dongol's guard.
Dongol is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Russell is controlling him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Russell's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Russell has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Dongol should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Russell has tightened it up now! Dongol should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
