Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rafa Radit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafa Radit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Douglas!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Radit scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Radit fails with an attempt to clinch.
Radit misses with a kick to the body.
Douglas avoids the head kick by Radit.
Radit tries to clinch but Douglas moves out of range.
Douglas throws a half hearted mid kick.
Radit shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Radit tries to clinch up.
Douglas moves out of range of the body kick.
Radit lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Charles Douglas has been cut.
Douglas moves out of range as Radit throws a body kick.
Radit tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Douglas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Radit gets caught napping as Douglas dives in and scores a takedown. Radit manages to retain guard.
Radit is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Radit is stalling here. Douglas is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Radit seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Douglas has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Douglas creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Radit sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Radit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Douglas on the ground.

Douglas tries to advance to mount but Radit denies him.
Radit tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Douglas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Douglas misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Douglas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Radit, who protects the arm well.

Douglas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Radit has escaped the position, nice work there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Douglas throws an elbow but Radit slips to the side and avoids it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Radit regains half guard, as Douglas was trying to land strikes.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Radit regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Douglas.
Douglas throws an elbow that misses. Radit uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Douglas's guard. Nice move by Radit!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Radit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Radit throws a half hearted mid kick.
Radit blocks a low kick nicely.
Radit throws a push kick but Douglas slaps the foot to one side.

and Douglas moves into the clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Radit throws an elbow but misses.
Radit tries to land a knee to the head but Douglas blocks with his arms.
Douglas is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Radit is defending well.
Radit with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Radit looking to throw knees to the head but Douglas is blocking nicely.

Douglas turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Douglas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Douglas breaks from Radit's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee warns Radit that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Radit tries to lock up and control but Douglas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Radit wants to control but Douglas is having none of it.
Douglas cracks Radit with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
A nice elbow there by Douglas.
Radit is bucking up trying to escape but Douglas cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Radit can't escape the position.
Douglas in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Douglas throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Douglas unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Radit wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Douglas celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

A very excited looking Charles Douglas made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
