Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ahmed Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and S B Marksman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). S B Marksman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ali shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ali showed some decent athleticism there.
Marksman is pressing down on Ali's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Ali controlling from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ali seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Marksman for as long as he can get away with.

Marksman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ali tries to free his leg and advance position but Marksman is retaining full guard.

Marksman looking for a guillotine here but Ali defends easily.
Marksman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ali is one step ahead there.
Marksman looks gassed!
Ali is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ahmed Ali just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Marksman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ali is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ali's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Ali with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ali might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ali drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ali jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ali is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ali feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ali stands and steps away. Marksman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Ali throws a sloppy head kick and Marksman moves out of range easily.

Ali fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marksman sprawls well initially but Ali persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ali in particular looking to stall.
Ali passes to full mount!
Marksman is breathing heavily.

Ali jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Marksman manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Ali stands up and beckons Marksman to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ali looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Marksman has his takedown stuffed

and Ali counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Ali wants to pass the guard but Marksman is defending well.
Ali passes to side control.

Ali is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Marksman looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ali gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Marksman is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ali lets go of the hold and Marksman can pop his arm back in it's socket.
