Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Jaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rasputin comes to the cage accompanied by Evil Scarecrow- Robotatron. Piotr Rasputin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Piotr Rasputin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Jaa!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasputin throws out a leg kick but Jaa moves out of range and Rasputin only half commits.
Rasputin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rasputin avoids the head kick by Jaa.
Rasputin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jaa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rasputin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rasputin lands in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tony Jaa will probably get the nod.
That's time! Rasputin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rasputin walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jaa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Sloppy strikes from Jaa. Those never looked like landing.
Jaa tries to clinch
and Rasputin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rasputin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jaa avoids it really well and circles away.
Jaa closes the distance but Rasputin moves to the side

and Rasputin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jaa's guard now.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Rasputin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jaa tries to escape but Rasputin is in control.

Rasputin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rasputin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rasputin is putting a hurting on Jaa here, landing some big shots from side control.
Jaa wants to get back to his feet but Rasputin drags him back down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jaa dodges the ground and pound from Rasputin.
Jaa felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Piotr Rasputin will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Jaa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rasputin steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jaa. That one must have hurt.

and Jaa counters with a head kick. That will keep Rasputin thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Jaa motions for Rasputin to come forward. Jaa throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Tony Jaa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rasputin moves into range and clinches up with Jaa.
Jaa wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rasputin unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jaa lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Tony Jaa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rasputin shoots in and bounces Jaa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rasputin throws a strike but Jaa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jaa gets to his feet. Rasputin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The fight stays on the outside here - Jaa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rasputin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jaa throws a nice head kick!

Jaa throws a sloppy head kick and Rasputin moves out of range easily.

Rasputin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rasputin is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jaa!
BOOM! Rasputin connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Piotr Rasputin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jaa wants to get back to his feet.
Rasputin with a couple of short strikes.
Rasputin lands a big shot to the head and Jaa winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
