Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Frulani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Jamesion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frulani's entrance music is In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 by Coheed and Cambria. A fine choice. Jamesion comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The red carpet kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Felipe Frulani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Jamesion!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jamesion drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Frulani is looking for a sweep.
Jamesion is looking to take a break and control but Frulani is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jamesion has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jamesion tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Frulani swivels and escapes.
Frulani throws a head kick that misses

and Jamesion holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Frulani tries to circle away but Jamesion has him pinned against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Frulani is trying to pull guard but Jamesion has him pressed against the cage.
Jamesion struggles to land a body shot inside as Frulani controls his hands.

Frulani pulls guard.
Jamesion won't allow Frulani to sweep him here.
Jamesion's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Frulani looking to control.
Jamesion tries to free his leg and advance position but Frulani is retaining full guard.
Jamesion must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jamesion working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Jamesion is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Mark Jamesion has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Frulani misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Frulani shoots in looking for a takedown. Jamesion tries to sprawl out of it but Frulani keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jamesion manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jamesion tries to clinch but Frulani moves out of range.

Jamesion fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Frulani sprawls well initially but Jamesion persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jamesion tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Frulani.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Frulani keeping hold of Jamesion's head, controlling as best he can.
Jamesion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frulani. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jamesion is keen to just control but Frulani is a slippery customer.

Frulani is looking to improve his position.
Jamesion drops an elbow to the side of Frulani's head.
Jamesion is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Frulani looking for submissions off his back.
Frulani trying to control from the bottom.
Jamesion trying to control from half guard but Frulani is working away.
Frulani regains full guard. Nicely done.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jamesion decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Frulani swats away the attempt to clinch by Jamesion.
Jamesion ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Frulani moves away.
Frulani tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jamesion paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jamesion gets the takedown into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Frulani is trying to control Jamesion's posture but Jamesion avoids it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Frulani is trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Jamesion dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jamesion fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Frulani avoids it really well and circles away.
Jamesion throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Frulani throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jamesion's waist but Jamesion gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Frulani off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jamesion shoots in for a takedown but Frulani shows good takedown defense.
Frulani tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jamesion moves into the clinch.

Frulani is looking to break free of the clinch but Jamesion has double underhooks.
Jamesion tries a body shot but Frulani blocks it.

Jamesion is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Frulani can't fight it off and eventually Jamesion manages to take the fight to the floor. Frulani looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Frulani is trying to get back to half guard.

Frulani manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Jamesion is staying active underneath Frulani, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jamesion is looking for a sweep. Frulani is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Felipe Frulani just wasn't active enough.

Frulani gets a clinch.

Jamesion's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Frulani fails with an attempt to clinch.
Frulani lands with a nice combination. Jamesion backs away looking to recover.

Frulani is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jamesion can't fight it off and eventually Frulani manages to take the fight to the floor. Jamesion looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Frulani is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Felipe Frulani wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Frulani looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jamesion is fending him off so far but Frulani persists. Nope, Jamesion circles away and we're back to standing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Frulani moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Jamesion shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Frulani sprawls well. Frulani wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jamesion gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Felipe Frulani will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Frulani tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jamesion manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Frulani closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jamesion circles away.

Jamesion is trying to control Frulani's posture but Frulani avoids it.
Jamesion pushes Frulani away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Frulani gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Frulani is looking to take a break and control but Jamesion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jamesion is nestled in close to Frulani, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jamesion is working for a kimura but Frulani is defending it quite comfortably.

Frulani is pulling down on Jamesion's head. It's preventing any offense from Jamesion, at least for the moment.

Frulani has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jamesion can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Frulani is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Frulani pulls Jamesion in close to prevent any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jamesion closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jamesion moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Felipe Frulani.
I think Frulani has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
