Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Jhones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and I Phone Five (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Jhones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, I Phone Five!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jhones throws a head kick that misses.
Five moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Roy Jhones has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Five. Those never looked like landing.
Five keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Five misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jhones throws a head kick that misses.
Five looks to land a combination but Jhones avoids it well.
Jhones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Five sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Five fails to land with a series of punches.
Five tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Jhones counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Jhones tries to bum rush Five with a series of wild strikes but Five uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Five displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jhones looks for a takedown but Five sprawls well.
Five throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Jhones gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Jhones drags the fight down to the ground.
Jhones looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Jhones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Five manages to get himself to full guard.
Five really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jhones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jhones with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Jhones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Five wants to stand but Jhones is controlling the position.
Five looks winded!
Jhones postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Jhones passes into half guard.
Jhones is taking a breather. Five says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jhones moves into full mount! Five won't be happy about that!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jhones connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jhones postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Five looks a forlorn figure.
Five takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jhones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jhones has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Five's face.
The referee warns Five that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jhones controlling from mount.
Jhones lands with some strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jhones throws the kick towards the body but Five avoids it.

Jhones moves into the clinch successfully.
Jhones wants to take the fight to the mat but Five manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Five breaks the clinch.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Jhones here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Jhones looks for a takedown but Five sprawls well.
Five tries to clinch but Jhones is having none of it.
Five lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jhones circles away quickly and effectively.
Five tries to clinch but Jhones moves out of range.

Jhones closes the distance and pushes Five back into the cage.

Jhones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Five tries to bum rush Jhones with a series of wild strikes but Jhones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Roy Jhones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Five is breathing heavily.
Five will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jhones misses with a body kick.
Five misses with a jab, cross combination.
Five throws a one two combo.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Five takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jhones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jhones throws a head kick but Five moves out of range.
I Phone Five is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Five throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jhones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Jhones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jhones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Five napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jhones working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Jhones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jhones remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Jhones has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Jhones is putting a hurting on Five here, landing some big shots from side control.

Jhones has hold of Five's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Five tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jhones cranks the arm and Five screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Five, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Roy Jhones!
