The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales gets a takedown into half guard.
Gonzales slips a nice elbow through Sloop's hands, connecting with Sloop's forehead.

Gonzales is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gonzales accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sloop is looking to stand up but Gonzales isn't so interested in that idea.
Gonzales throws an elbow that misses. Sloop uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gonzales's guard. Nice move by Sloop!

Gonzales is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sloop dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sloop wants to stand but Gonzales has his arm trapped.

Sloop displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gonzales.
Sloop shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gonzales but Gonzales pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sloop rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gonzales moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sloop lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Sloop throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gonzales drops his hands momentarily and Sloop takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Josh Sloop is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sloop scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gonzales doesn't seem bothered though.

and Sloop cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gonzales shoots in looking for a takedown but Sloop manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gonzales's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gonzales throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sloop's waist but Sloop gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gonzales off to one side.
Sloop cracks Gonzales with a right hand to the side of the head.

Sloop doesn't manage to clinch there - Gonzales circles away.
Sloop cracks Gonzales with a hook to the temple - Gonzales is on wobbly legs here! Sloop swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Gonzales falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Sloop wins by TKO!
