Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aiko Flaviano!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flaviano misses with a series of wild punches.
Fernandez takes a kick to the side of the head.

and Fernandez counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fernandez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Flaviano sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Flaviano is looking to slow Fernandez down with leg kicks.
Fernandez rushes Flaviano and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fernandez can't get the takedown.
Fernandez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Fernandez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Flaviano jumps guard but Fernandez turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Flaviano wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fernandez has him pressed against the cage.
Flaviano is trying to drag Fernandez to the mat but Fernandez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Fernandez is looking to take this one to the mat.

Fernandez is looking for a takedown.
Fernandez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fernandez wants the takedown. Flaviano is fighting it off but Fernandez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Flaviano's guard against the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Flaviano can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fernandez tries to free his leg and advance position but Flaviano is retaining full guard.
Flaviano looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Flaviano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fernandez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fernandez stands and throws Flaviano's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Fernandez has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Flaviano is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Fernandez yanks on the arm and Flaviano is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Fernandez.

A determined Frank Fernandez didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
