PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Mossey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Mossey !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Peters!
The judges for this bout are , and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mossey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Peters but Peters pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Peters misses with the combination.
Good standup being displayed there by Peters as he connects with a hook.


It looks like Jack Mossey has been cut.
Mossey shoots in looking for a takedown. Peters tries to sprawl out of it but Mossey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peters manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mossey dodges the punch combination from Peters.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Mossey drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mossey drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Peters manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mossey has Peters in his guard.
Peters controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Peters stands and steps away. Mossey gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Horrible takedown by Mossey or perhaps it was just good defense by Peters which made him look bad.

Peters throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mossey .

Mossey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mossey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Peters is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Mossey is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Peters has escaped the position, nice work there.
Peters can't do much from the bottom here.

Mossey looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peters struggling a bit here.
Peters is trying to improve his position.

Mossey tries for a kimura but Peters is defending well.
Mossey passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Peters!
Peters trying desperately to get to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mossey prevents Peters from getting the reversal.

Peters tries to lock up and control but Mossey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mossey wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Peters bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Mossey has his foot on Peters's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Peters works his way back into a safe position though.

Peters trying to control the position from guard on top but Mossey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Peters controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Mossey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peters can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mossey had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Peters is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mossey Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Peters's back instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Mossey will probably get the nod.

Peters sizes up Mossey with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
No luck for Mossey with that takedown attempt.
Mossey slips a jab and a cross from Peters.
Peters lands with a hook. Mossey tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Mossey shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Peters's guard.
Peters not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mossey stands and throws Peters's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mossey is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Peters has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mossey thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Peters prevents Mossey from improving position.

Mossey is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Peters knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Peters throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Peters closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Peters throws a series of punches but Mossey moves out of range.
Mossey closes the distance and clinches up with Peters, looking for a takedown. Mossey pushes Peters against the cage but Peters circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Peters rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mossey moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mossey , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
