Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Nakai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Westside (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teddy Westside has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Yuki Nakai's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yuki Nakai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teddy Westside!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westside is looking to land body kicks.
Nakai fails to land the takedown.
Nice cross by Westside.
Westside throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nakai stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nakai shoots in but Westside avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nakai goes for a double leg but Westside avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Westside continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yuki Nakai. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Westside.
Westside lands a hook to the side of the head.
Westside has Nakai pushed against the cage.

Westside's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Westside lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Nakai is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Westside is defending well.

Nakai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A combination from Nakai does no damage.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nakai.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Westside, as that shot connected.
Westside tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nakai was well out of range. Poor timing from Westside.
Nakai fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Westside avoids it really well and circles away.

Nakai feints and as Westside raises his hands in defense, Nakai changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Nakai throws a big right hand that misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Westside really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nakai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nakai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Westside swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nakai has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Nakai trying to control but Westside is working from the bottom.

Nakai drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Westside dives on top into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Westside wants to pass the guard but Nakai is keeping the position.
Westside stopping the sweep attempt from Nakai.
Nakai has control of Westside's left arm, preventing Westside from doing any damage.
Nakai looking to hit a scissor sweep but Westside is one step ahead there.

Nakai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Westside tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nakai was well out of range. Poor timing from Westside.
Nakai slips a jab from Westside.
Westside looks to land a left hand but Nakai moved out of range nicely.
Westside paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nice body punch from Westside.
Nakai misses the shot to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Westside leaves Nakai with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Westside scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Teddy Westside dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Horrible takedown by Nakai or perhaps it was just good defense by Westside which made him look bad.
Nakai walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Nakai shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Westside is looking to land body kicks.
Nakai closes the distance and clinches up with Westside, looking for a takedown. Nakai pushes Westside against the cage but Westside circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and as Nakai loses concentration momentarily, Westside counters with a picture perfect head kick! Nakai goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Teddy Westside!
A relieved looking Teddy Westside thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
