PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michal Karpecny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brown Eye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown Eye told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michal Karpecny!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brown Eye!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eye gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Karpecny gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Eye regains guard.
Eye is looking to stand up but Karpecny isn't so interested in that idea.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eye wants to get back to his feet but Karpecny is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Karpecny knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Eye on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michal Karpecny.

Brown Eye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Eye wants the takedown. Karpecny is fighting it off but Eye persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Karpecny's guard against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Eye clinches up with Karpecny and pushes him back against the cage.

Eye has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Karpecny clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Eye is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Eye gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Eye gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Eye apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Brown Eye showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Brown Eye!
A less than humble Brown Eye misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
The defeated Michal Karpecny had this to say: 'I get you next time!'.
