Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Gibson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Austin Anderson!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Anderson.
Gibson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anderson as he avoids it easily.
Gibson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Anderson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Anderson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gibson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Anderson.
Gibson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Anderson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Anderson's corner calls for a 1-2. Anderson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Austin Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gibson wants to clinch.
Anderson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gibson is looking to clinch but Anderson is avoiding it.

Anderson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gibson.

It looks like Robert Gibson has been cut.
Gibson has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Anderson's lack of action.
Anderson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gibson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Anderson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gibson, who protects the arm well.

Anderson tries to move to mount but Gibson blocks the move with his legs.
Gibson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Anderson lands a few punches from side control.
Gibson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Anderson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson is putting a hurting on Gibson here, landing some big shots from side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Anderson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Gibson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Anderson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Gibson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Gibson closes the distance and clinches up with Anderson, looking for a takedown. Gibson pushes Anderson against the cage but Anderson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Anderson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gibson wants to clinch.
Anderson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Gibson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anderson's waist but Anderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gibson off to one side.
Gibson throws a series of punches but Anderson avoids them all with ease.
Gibson takes one on the button.
Gibson shoots in looking for a takedown but Anderson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gibson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gibson is rocked!


Robert Gibson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Gibson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Oh Gibson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Anderson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gibson seems to have got his legs back now.

Gibson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Anderson.

Anderson lands a nice hook to Gibson's body. Gibson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Gibson.

Austin Anderson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gibson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gibson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Anderson lands with a nice body punch.
Anderson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gibson. That did some damage!
Gibson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Anderson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gibson's calf.

Anderson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gibson.
Austin Anderson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Gibson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Anderson scores with a sloppy right hand. Gibson should have avoided that one.
Anderson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gibson on the side of the head.
Anderson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gibson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Anderson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gibson eats them both and turns towards Anderson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Jeez, Robert Gibson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Gibson shoots in for a takedown but Anderson shows good takedown defense.

Anderson connects with a body shot that sends Gibson's belly button to the back.
Anderson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Anderson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gibson momentarily.
Robert Gibson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gibson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gibson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Anderson - the referee stops the clock and Gibson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Anderson. Gibson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
and Anderson counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Gibson! He's just covering up as Anderson starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Austin Anderson!
Austin Anderson decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
