Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Deep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Piltz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piltz has chosen Don't Stop Me Now as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Deep!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Piltz!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deep throws a head kick but Piltz moves out of range.

Piltz dives in and scores a takedown into Deep's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Piltz trying to control but Deep is working from the bottom.
Deep has a closed guard, preventing Piltz from standing up.

Piltz has gone for a leg lock! Deep slips out almost immediately though and dives into Piltz's guard.

Piltz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Deep sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Deep wants to pass the guard but Piltz is keeping the position.

Deep avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Piltz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Deep is aware though and is defending well.

Deep got a little sloppy there for a moment and Piltz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Deep has managed to get both his arms back between Piltz's legs - danger averted.

Deep drops back looking for a leg! Piltz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Piltz manages to kick Deep off! Deep jumps back into Piltz's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Piltz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Deep defends it easily.
Piltz keeping moving, preventing Deep from controlling successfully.

Piltz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Deep can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Deep stands and throws Piltz's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Deep working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Deep looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Piltz is trying to get back to half guard.
Piltz manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Piltz thows a huge punch but Deep dodges it nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Piltz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Deep circles away quickly and effectively.
Piltz moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Piltz creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Piltz just misses with a elbow thrown towards Deep's brow.
Piltz lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Piltz managing to block the knees to the body from Deep.
Deep is trying to pull guard but Piltz turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Piltz is pushing Deep up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Piltz keeps control of Deep as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Piltz stops a takedown attempt from Deep.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Piltz is pressed up against the cage. Deep has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Piltz down to the mat. Piltz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Deep walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A right-left combo lands from Piltz.
Deep shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Piltz defends it nicely.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Piltz.
Deep tries to throw a body punch but Piltz avoids it by throwing Deep back against the cage.
Piltz is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Piltz tries to work over Deep's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Deep tries to pull guard but Piltz holds him up against the cage and eventually Deep drops back down to his feet.

Mark Piltz seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Deep's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Johnny Deep is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Deep shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Piltz pinned against the cage. Piltz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Piltz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Deep backs up against the cage.

Oh Deep is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The crowd are getting on Piltz's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Mark Piltz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Piltz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well Piltz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Mark Piltz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
