Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patty Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evgeni Novikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Patterson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Faint - Hospital. Evgeni Novikov acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Novikov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Patterson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Patterson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Novikov tries to avoid it but Patterson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Novikov to the ground. Novikov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Patterson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Novikov as he jumps to the side.
Novikov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Patterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Novikov has Patterson up against the cage in a clinch.
Novikov makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Patterson tries to pull guard but Novikov holds him up against the cage and eventually Patterson drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patty Patterson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Novikov is pressed up against the cage. Patterson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Novikov down to the mat. Novikov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Novikov throws the left hand but Patterson avoids the punch easily.

Patterson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Novikov has his hands clasped together but Patterson extends an breaks Novikov's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Patterson.
