PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Coreman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King comes into the arena with Pitbull ft Marc Anthony Rain Over Me blaring out of the sound system. Coreman has chosen Imagine Dragons - Round And Round as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coreman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting King counter with a right hand.

King gets in close and instigates a clinch.
King lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
King is working for takedown but Coreman is calmly controlling the position for now.
King has Coreman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Coreman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
King wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Coreman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
King avoids the head kick by Coreman.
King scores with a nice head shot.
King shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Coreman but Coreman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce King. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Coreman throws a leg kick
and King cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Coreman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Coreman takes a kick to the side of the head.
Coreman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. King defends it nicely.
King fails with the takedown.
Coreman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Coreman gets in close and instigates a clinch.
King is pressed up against the cage. Coreman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag King down to the mat. King avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Coreman throws a lazy head kick
and King counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Coreman misses with a kick to the body
and King makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Coreman looks winded!
King lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

King pushes Coreman up against the cage in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by King.
King tries to break free but Coreman pushes him back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Coreman's face as he tries to break the clinch.
King wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Coreman has him pressed against the cage.
Coreman slowing the pace effectively.
King wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Coreman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
King is trying hard to land a takedown here. Coreman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Coreman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Coreman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A left and a right from King both land. Nice combination.
King displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Coreman.

Coreman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
King closes this distance looking for a takedown but Coreman circles away.
Coreman throws a lazy body kick
and King connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Coreman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says King as he avoids it easily.

and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

King moves into the clinch successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

King escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Coreman tries to keep at a distance but King has taken the fight into the clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from King.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bruce King will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


King feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Coreman's calf.
King lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by King.
Coreman connects with a high kick.

King clinches with his opponent.
King keeps control of Coreman as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
King tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Coreman smiles and moves away.
Coreman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from King is defended easily by Coreman.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice uppercut lands for King. That snapped Coreman's head back.

Coreman tries to close the distance and clinch but King swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Coreman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says King as he avoids it easily.

Coreman is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Coreman stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows King to get to his feet.

Coreman is trying to drag King to the mat but King just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
King lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Coreman backwards.

I would just about give that final round to Adam Coreman.
