Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Woody Longue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fatu has chosen Hawaii - Aloha-Oe as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Woody Longue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryan Fatu!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fatu gets tackled into the cage by Longue. Longue maintains the clinch.

Fatu breaks from the clinch.
Fatu looks for a takedown but Longue sprawls well.

Longue scores with a takedown into Fatu's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Fatu looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fatu keeping moving, preventing Longue from controlling successfully.
Longue sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fatu's guard.

Longue is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Longue thows a huge punch but Fatu dodges it nicely.

Fatu pushes Longue off looking to stand but Longue dives back in and keeps control.
Fatu wants to control but Longue is keeping busy.

Fatu looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Longue looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Longue seems to be working for a kimura but Fatu defends the submission attempt.

Longue tries to pass to full mount but Fatu defends it.

Longue is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Fatu is trying to stand.
Fatu is trying to maintain the position but Longue is very close to passing his half guard.

Fatu is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Longue is staying active.

Longue advances position into side control!

Longue seems to be working for a kimura but Fatu defends the submission attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Woody Longue will probably get the nod.
That's time! Longue's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ryan Fatu has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Fatu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Longue's waist but Longue gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fatu off to one side.
Longue keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Longue looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fatu won't allow Longue to pass to mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fatu gets back to full guard.

Fatu is looking for a triangle but Longue pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Fatu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Fatu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Longue tries to avoid it but Fatu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Longue to the ground. Longue escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Longue instigates a clinch.
Fatu is working for takedown but Longue is calmly controlling the position for now.

Fatu is trying hard to land a takedown here. Longue sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Woody Longue has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Fatu.
Fatu shoots in and drives through. Longue sprawls well.
Fatu doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Longue counters with a shoot takedown. Fatu fights it but they end up in guard.
Longue showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Fatu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fatu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Longue working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Fatu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Longue gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Longue lands a couple of digs.
Longue throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Longue wants to control from the top but Fatu keeps moving.
Longue is pushing down on Fatu's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fatu is fighting to maintain full guard but Longue has managed to sneak the leg through.

Longue wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fatu keeps working.
Woody Longue overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Longue wants to stand up but Fatu is controlling the position.

Longue decides to stand and escape the position.
Longue stuffs the takedown attempt from Fatu. Fatu gets slowly back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Longue closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fatu's guard.

Fatu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Longue defends it easily.
Longue wants to control from the top but Fatu keeps moving.

Longue drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fatu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fatu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fatu!
Longue is trying to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Longue is not content to let Fatu control the position.
Fatu might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Longue haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fatu takes a little break here. Longue wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Longue has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
