Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brandon Bronson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Cardone!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bronson lands with a cross.
Bronson keeps Cardone at a distance using the push kick.
Bronson throws a lazy head kick

and Cardone counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Bronson.
Cardone tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bronson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Bronson landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Bronson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cardone looks for a takedown but Bronson sprawls well.

Bronson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Bronson thuds a left hand into Cardone's body.
Bronson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cardone at a distance.
Bronson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bronson clobbers Cardone with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Bronson thows a body shot but no joy.
Cardone gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bronson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Brandon Bronson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Cardone.

Bronson tightens his grip and picks Cardone up, before dumping him to the ground. Cardone manages to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Cardone is trying to hold Bronson in close to prevent damage but Bronson has managed to pass into half guard.

Bronson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Cardone looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Bronson pushes past his half guard into mount!
Cardone is desperately trying to improve his position but Bronson has a good base and remains in mount.

Bronson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bronson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cardone is in a horrible position here. Bronson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Bronson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cardone for as long as he can get away with.

and Bronson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Matt Cardone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bronson jabs Cardone to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Cardone shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bronson but Bronson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd cheers as Bronson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cardone doesn't seem phased though.
Bronson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cardone back to the cage. Bronson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brandon Bronson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cardone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cardone takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Bronson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Cardone counters by clinching up.
Bronson lands a hook to the side of the head.
Bronson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cardone.

Bronson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bronson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cardone manages to avoid it.
