Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Real Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris McCowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Real Steel has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Real Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris McCowan!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCowan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Steel blocks a jab.
Steel scores with a three punch combo!


It looks like Chris McCowan has been cut.
McCowan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A combination from Steel does no damage.
Steel fails to land with a series of punches.
Steel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McCowan.
Steel lands a jab to McCowan's midsection.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McCowan throws a right hand that misses
and Steel counters with a nice body shot.
McCowan avoids the body shot from Steel.
McCowan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steel circles away.
McCowan takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Steel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Steel digs a good body shot into McCowan's ribs.
McCowan swings widly with a right hand
and Steel makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
McCowan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Steel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Steel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McCowan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Steel lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
McCowan misses with a double jab
and Steel counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
McCowan cracks a nice hook into Steel's ribs.
McCowan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McCowan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Steel to score with a decent uppercut.
Steel looks to land a combination but McCowan avoids it well.
McCowan moves forwards but Steel connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McCowan misses with a right hand
and Steel counters with a left to the body.
McCowan looks winded!
Steel lands with a right hand.
Steel connects with a body shot.
Chris McCowan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Steel works McCowan's body with a nice hook.

Oooooh!!! Steel has knocked McCowan down with a huge combo! Steel steps away and waves a wobbly McCowan back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


McCowan is rocked!

McCowan dodges the punch combination from Steel.

Steel lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Steel.
McCowan ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Steel moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
McCowan is still on wobbly legs! Can Steel finish him?

McCowan seems to have recovered his senses.
Steel throws a right and a left that both miss.
McCowan goes for a double leg but Steel avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Steel continues to drive forward.
Real Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris McCowan.
Steel tries to break the clinch but McCowan is controlling the position.

McCowan working aggressively here.
McCowan misses with a punch to the body.
Steel has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Steel is looking to break free of the clinch but McCowan has double underhooks.
McCowan misses with some punches.
McCowan lands a nice uppercut.
McCowan throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Steels head.
McCowan wants to take the fight to the mat but Steel manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Steel tries to circle away but McCowan has him pinned against the cage.

Steel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McCowan throws a big shot that misses.
McCowan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McCowan misses the body punch
letting Steel counter with a right hand.


That has opened up Chris McCowan's cut even more.
Steel with a body punch. A glancing blow.
A right-left combo lands from Steel.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McCowan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Steel moves away.
Steel avoids a punch combination nicely.
McCowan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Steel moves away.
McCowan tries to clinch but Steel moves out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McCowan thows a body shot but no joy.
Steel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCowan circles away quickly and effectively.
McCowan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Steel avoids it really well and circles away.
Steel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McCowan.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Real Steel dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


McCowan throws a jab but it's blocked by Steel.
McCowan throws the left hand but Steel avoids the punch easily.
Steel misses with a two punch combination.
McCowan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Steel was well out of range. Poor timing from McCowan.
Steel thows a body shot but no joy.
Steel lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
McCowan swings for the body but Steel moves out of range.
Some wild striking there from Steel.
McCowan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Steel thuds a left hand into McCowan's body.
Steel stuffs the takedown.
Real Steel is winning the standup battle so far.
The crowd cheers as Steel lands an impressive looking overhand right. McCowan doesn't seem phased though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McCowan does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Steel lands a big uppercut and McCowan crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but McCowan looks OK. Steel waves McCowan back to his feet!

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCowan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Steel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Steel connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt McCowan covering up! Steel comes in with a big uppercut and McCowan goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Real Steel!
Our winner, Real Steel, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
