Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jean Van Dam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrell Suggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Van Dam might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Hand That Feeds . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jean Van Dam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terrell Suggs!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suggs thows a body shot but no joy.

Van Dam shoots in and bounces Suggs off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Suggs has his feet on Van Dam's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Suggs misses with a body kick.
Van Dam throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Van Dam looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Suggs is fending him off so far but Van Dam persists. Nope, Suggs circles away and we're back to standing.

Van Dam creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Suggs sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Van Dam shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Suggs but Suggs pushes him off and we're back to square one.

No joy there for Suggs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A decent looking cross lands there for Suggs.
Van Dam throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Suggs's waist but Suggs gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Van Dam off to one side.

Terrell Suggs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Suggs has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Terrell Suggs rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
