Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fallon Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox comes to the cage accompanied by Take a Walk on the Wild Side. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fallon Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 26 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Nixon!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon tries to close the distance and clinch but Fox swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nixon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nixon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Fox holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Fox gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Fox perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Nixon looks like he's trying to stand up.

Nixon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fox takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fox blocks the strikes from Nixon.

Fox is working for a submission of some sort.

Fox is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fox is taking a breather. Nixon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Nixon looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Fox works his foot free and advances to mount.
Fox pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Fox lands with some strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nixon really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Fox controlling the pace for now.
Fox seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Nixon for as long as he can get away with.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nixon is trying to stand up.
Fox takes Nixon's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.

Nixon is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Fox is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fox has good solid back control here.

Nixon won't enjoy being in this position. Fox looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Nixon is tapping - it's over boys! Fox picks up the submission victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Fallon Fox!
After the fight, Fallon Fox was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
