PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between WIlliam Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob comes into the arena with I got my game on blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that George Nelson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, WIlliam Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson slips under a jab.
Bob scores with a sloppy right hand. Nelson should have avoided that one.
Bob connects with a jab.
The fighters circling - Nelson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nelson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bob fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bob tries a head kick but it misses.
Nelson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Bob counters with a stiff right hand.
Nelson throws a body punch but Bob moves out of range.
Nelson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nelson lands with a hook. Bob tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bob bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

A frustrated look appears on Nelson's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Bob lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Bob connects with a good right hand that stumbles Nelson. Nelson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Nelson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bob.
Bob throws an overhand right that lands on Nelson's shoulder, as Nelson tries to avoid the shot.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Bob.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bob.

Bob connects with a good right hand that stumbles Nelson. Nelson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Bob wants to clinch up but Nelson keeps it at a distance.
WIlliam Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson cracks Bob with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Bob misses with a few strikes there.

Bob rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Nelson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bob just misses with a punch to the body.
Bob looks for the body kick but Nelson saw that one coming.
Nelson blocks the body kick.

Bob forces Nelson back against the cage and clinches.
Bob tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Nelson is trying to break free.

Bob's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nelson moves out of range of the body kick.
George Nelson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bob throws a lazy uppercut
and Nelson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bob tries to bum rush Nelson with a series of wild strikes but Nelson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bob throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bob wants to clinch but Nelson slips to the side
and Nelson counters with a one-two to the body.
A slapping body kick lands there for Bob.
Nelson misses with a straight left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

WIlliam Bob dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bob scores with the left hand. Nelson knows he should have avoided that one.
The crowd cheers as Bob lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nelson doesn't seem phased though.

A chopping leg kick lands by Bob.
Bob shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nelson pinned against the cage. Nelson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bob shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Bob looks to score with a jab to the body but Nelson is just out of range.

Bob shoots in but Nelson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bob misses with an uppercut
and Bob takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nelson looks to land a right hand but Bob moved out of range.

Bob rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nelson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nelson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Bob moves in looking to clinch but Nelson pushes him off.
Nelson throws a jab when Bob was well out of range.
Bob tries to close the distance and clinch but Nelson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bob throws a leg kick but Nelson sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Nelson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bob moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bob shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nelson defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for WIlliam Bob. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bob moves in looking to clinch but Nelson pushes him off.
Nelson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Horrible takedown by Bob or perhaps it was just good defense by Nelson which made him look bad.

Nelson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Bob throws the kick towards the body but Nelson avoids it.
Bob fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Nelson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Bob escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nelson looks to land a combination but Bob avoids it well.

Nelson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bob tries to clinch but Nelson moves out of range.
Bob shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nelson sprawls well. Nelson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bob gets slowly back to his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nelson lands a right hook to the body.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to WIlliam Bob.
Well Bob has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
