Fortier throws a jab but it's blocked by Staehlin.

and Staehlin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fortier's guard.
Staehlin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Fortier manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Staehlin is squirming around, avoiding Fortier's attempts to control the action.

Staehlin tries to lock up and control but Fortier gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fortier can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Staehlin is looking to escape.

Fortier looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Staehlin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Staehlin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fortier on the ground.

Staehlin has left one of his arms exposed and Fortier doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Staehlin screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
