Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Sobchak !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Big Bastard!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard looks to land a combination but Sobchak avoids it well.
No luck for Bastard with that takedown attempt.
Bastard tries to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Bastard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sobchak fakes the leg kick and cracks Bastard in the body.
Bastard looks winded!
Sobchak pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sobchak thumps Bastard with a low kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A solid leg kick lands there for Sobchak .
Sobchak lands with a cross.
Bastard ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bastard tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Sobchak shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bastard manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Sobchak is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Sobchak 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Sobchak throws an elbow that misses. Bastard uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sobchak 's guard. Nice move by Bastard!
Bastard is looking to advance position but Sobchak has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Sobchak lands with some strikes.
Bastard can't escape the position.

Sobchak is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sobchak avoids the attempt from Bastard to control.
Bastard tries to reverse the position but Sobchak maintains control.
Bastard tries to hold on but Sobchak pushes him away.
Bastard avoids a series of strikes thrown by Sobchak .

Bastard is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Sobchak is staying active.
Sobchak misses with some ground and pound and Bastard recovers position to half guard.
Sobchak thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Still in half guard, Sobchak seems content to control.
Sobchak is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Sobchak lands strikes from half guard.

Sobchak throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bastard to regain full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bastard holds on and takes a little breather.
Bastard wants to stand but Sobchak is controlling the position.
Bastard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sobchak postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bastard wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sobchak throws a strike but Bastard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Sobchak dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bastard lands a two punch combo.
A solid leg kick lands there for Bastard.
Sobchak tries to land a front kick but Bastard steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sobchak misses with a body kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Bastard.

Bastard has closed the distance and engaged Sobchak in a clinch.
Sobchak changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bastard fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bastard throws a quick inside leg kick.
Bastard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sobchak manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bastard has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sobchak is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Sobchak tries to land knees in the clinch but Bastard avoids the damage to the body.

and Sobchak counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bastard is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sobchak sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Bastard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bastard turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Sobchak has Bastard pressed against the cage, preventing Bastard from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Sobchak throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bastard blocks it with crossed arms.

Bastard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sobchak walks into a left hand.
Bastard wants to clinch.
Bastard misses with a head kick.
Bastard lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bastard.

Sobchak tries a head kick but it misses.
Bastard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sobchak sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bastard somewhat.
Bastard digs a good body shot into Sobchak 's ribs.
Bastard chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Sobchak walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Bastard shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sobchak defends it nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bastard buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bastard moves in looking to clinch but Sobchak pushes him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Big Bastard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Sobchak fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bastard manages to avoid it.
Bastard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sobchak as he avoids it easily.

Sobchak is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bastard scores with a couple of nice shots.

Big Bastard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
