Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mos Def (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Def comes to the cage accompanied by Mathematics. Alves is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rob Zombie - Scum of the earth . Mos Def has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mos Def!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fernando Alves!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves feints and then cracks Def's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Def down.
Alves jabs Def right on the nose. Def blinks but takes it well.
Def avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Alves lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Alves throws a right and a left that both miss.
Def checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Alves throws a series of punches but Def moves out of range.
Def throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Some bone on bone action there as Def checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Alves misses with the body kick
and Def counters with a leg kick.
Alves throws a shot to the body.
A big right from Alves misses.
Alves throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Def has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Alves finds it's way round the side to connect with Def's head.

It looks like Mos Def has been cut.
Alves lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Def backs up against the cage.
Alves misses with a wild body shot.
Def takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Alves throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A jab from Alves does it's job there.
Alves takes a swing at Def's ribcage but misses.
Def throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Alves throws the kick towards the body but Def avoids it.
Nice body punch from Alves.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alves cracks Def with a good jab.

Def is rocked!
Def stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Alves.
Oh Def is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alves plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Def to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Def just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
