Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roddy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Knuckle Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piper comes to the cage accompanied by Real Men Wear Skirts. Stone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gimme Shelter. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Roddy Piper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 2, fighting out of London, Knuckle Stone!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Piper duly obliges.

Stone tries a low kick but Piper avoids it.
Piper misses with a left hand
and Stone counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A lazy left from Stone finds it's target.
Piper misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stone connects with a jab.
Stone cracks the inside of Piper's front leg.
Piper thows a body shot but no joy.
Piper walks into a left hand.
Piper throws a lazy uppercut
and Stone cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Piper jabs Stone right on the nose. Stone blinks but takes it well.

Piper drives through with a takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stone is on top in guard.
Stone wants to stand but Piper has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Piper wants to stand up but Stone is controlling him.
Piper wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Stone is now in half guard.
Piper holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Piper is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Stone tries to stand and escape but Piper is controlling the position.
Piper tries to get to full guard but Stone has control of the leg.

Stone decides to stand up.
Piper misses with a hook. Stone ducked under it nicely.
Piper looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Stone takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stone with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Piper misses with a low kick.
Piper shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stone sprawls well. Stone wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Piper gets slowly back to his feet.
Piper thows a body shot but no joy.

Stone rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Piper moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Stone ducks under a wild hook from Piper.
Stone takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Piper pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stone on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Piper. Piper obviously looking to wear him down.
Stone misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Piper.

That kick from Piper tenderised Stone's leg. Stone is trying to keep his angry face on.
Stone fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Piper manages to avoid it.
Piper scores with the left hand. Stone knows he should have avoided that one.

and Stone counters with a low kick, right behind Piper 's knee.
Piper misses with a jab to the body
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Piper tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Piper throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stone sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Piper lands a high kick!
Knuckle Stone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Piper moves out of range of the body kick.
Piper throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A slow jab from Stone misses its intended target.
Piper missing with a left hand there. Stone was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Piper pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stone throws a low kick, looking for Piper's leg but Piper calmly moves out of range.
Piper misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Stone counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Piper thinking.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Piper chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Stone takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Stone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roddy Piper dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Stone. Piper shrugs it off though.
Piper takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Piper throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
No joy there for Stone, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice uppercut lands for Stone. That snapped Piper's head back.
Roddy Piper is winning the standup battle so far.
Piper misses with a body shot.
Stone swings for the body but Piper moves out of range.
Piper blocks a jab.
Piper shoots in for a takedown but Stone shows good takedown defense.
Stone fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Piper has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Piper walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Piper fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Stone avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Stone throws a series of punches but Piper avoids them all with ease.

Piper misses with a left hand
and Stone counters with a thumping low kick.
Stone goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Piper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stone.
Stone takes a kick to the side of the head.
Stone swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stone takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Piper on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

and Piper counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Piper pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Stone scores with a punch to the head.
Stone throws a quick inside leg kick.
Piper looks to land a left hand but Stone moved out of range nicely.

Piper throws a wild body kick that Stone sees coming a mile off.

and Stone counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Stone slips under a jab from Piper.
Both fighters circling a little - Piper finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Piper fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Stone connects with a nice looking jab.
Piper throws a front kick aimed at Stone's knee but Stone avoids it well.
Stone scores with a hook to the body. Piper takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Stone lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Piper misses with a hook. Stone ducked under it nicely.
Piper is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stone.

and Stone counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Stone takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Piper shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stone napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Stone is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Stone is not content to let Piper control the position.

Stone tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Piper wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Stone pushes Piper away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Piper gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Stone prevents Piper from moving into mount.

Piper works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Stone is looking for a sweep.
Piper wants to take a breather but Stone manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Piper.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Piper loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roddy Piper will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Piper throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Piper keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Piper misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A big left from Piper misses.
Piper tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Stone is able to avoid easily.
Piper stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Piper takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Stone changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Stone just misses with a punch to the body.
That kick from Stone tenderised Piper's leg. Piper is trying to keep his angry face on.
Piper works over Stone's head and body with a nice combination.

Roddy Piper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Piper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Stone is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stone tries to kick Piper off but Piper keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Stone is staying active underneath Piper, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Piper slips a nice elbow through Stone's hands, connecting with Stone's forehead.
Stone gets back to full guard.

Stone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Piper has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Knuckle Stone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Piper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stone wants to get up but he can't break Piper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Roddy Piper showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Piper has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
