Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dalton Pressnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waliy Al Din (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dalton Pressnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Waliy Al Din!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pressnell instigates a clinch.

Pressnell pulls guard effortlessly.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Al Din trying to control but Pressnell is working from the bottom.
Pressnell managing to control the position.
Pressnell manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Al Din tries to hold on but Pressnell postures up.
Al Din is working to get back to half guard.
Pressnell controlling from the full mount.

Pressnell is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Pressnell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Al Din misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pressnell.
Al Din fails with an attempt to clinch.

Pressnell turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pressnell manages to end up in side control.
Al Din gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pressnell looks to land a strike but Al Din avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pressnell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Al Din is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Al Din takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Al Din fails to land the takedown.
Al Din lands a slapping body shot.

Pressnell has Al Din up against the cage in a clinch.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pressnell's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Pressnell jumps guard and drags Al Din to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Al Din tries to free his leg and advance position but Pressnell is retaining full guard.
Pressnell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Al Din on the ground.
Pressnell is controlling Al Din's posture.
Pressnell is striking from the bottom but Al Din uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Pressnell is doing well to control the position and prevent Al Din from advancing to side control.
Al Din trying to control from half guard but Pressnell is working away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Al Din tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Pressnell counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Al Din is looking to take this one to the mat.

Pressnell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Pressnell moves into range and clinches up with Al Din.
Pressnell wants to break the clinch but can't.
The referee calls for Pressnell to work.
Pressnell gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Al Din is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Al Din prevents Pressnell from breaking the clinch.

Pressnell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pressnell leaves Al Din with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pressnell clinches up against the cage.
Pressnell lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Al Din lands with a right to the head.

Pressnell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Al Din misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Pressnell prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dalton Pressnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Waliy Al Din.

Pressnell has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Pressnell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Pressnell pulls Al Din in close to his closed guard and prevents Al Din from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dalton Pressnell just wasn't active enough.
Al Din shoots in for a double leg but Pressnell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Al Din is breathing heavily.

Pressnell moves into range and clinches up with Al Din.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pressnell wants the takedown. Al Din is fighting it off but Pressnell persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Al Din's guard against the cage.

Pressnell stays in close to Al Din's body and controls the position.
Al Din is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pressnell is controlling him.
Pressnell wants to get up but he can't break Al Din's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pressnell is looking to sweep but instead, Al Din has passed into half guard.

Pressnell pushes Al Din off and gets back to his feet.
Dalton Pressnell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pressnell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Pressnell moves into range and clinches up with Al Din.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Al Din tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pressnell swivels and escapes.
A head kick from Pressnell lands but Al Din takes it in his stride.
Pressnell takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Pressnell clinches up with Al Din and pushes him back against the cage.
Pressnell is trying to pull guard but Al Din has him pressed against the cage.

Pressnell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pressnell is looking to sweep but instead, Al Din has passed into half guard.

Pressnell wants to control but Al Din is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pressnell is refusing to be controlled, as Al Din sits in half guard.

Pressnell is trying to maintain the position but Al Din is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dalton Pressnell wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Pressnell tries to close the distance and clinch but Al Din swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Pressnell slaps away a takedown attempt from Al Din, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Pressnell wants to get back to his feet but Al Din is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Pressnell wants to sweep here but Al Din controlling him for the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Pressnell wants to stand and escape but Al Din is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Pressnell has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
