The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rookie throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Meeks lands with a hook. Rookie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
It looks like El Senor Rookie has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A combination from Meeks does no damage.
Meeks takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Skylar Meeks has been cut.
Meeks closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rookie circles away.
Meeks closes the distance but Rookie moves to the side
and Rookie counters with a body kick.
Meeks is breathing heavily.
Rookie and Meeks are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Rookie throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Meeks into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Rookie knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). El Senor Rookie!
After winning the bout, El Senor Rookie thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
