The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Salcedo eats them both and turns towards Alves to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Alves chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Salcedo can pounce on him.
Donk. Salcedo catches Alves right on the button with a cross.
It looks like Danilo Alves has been cut.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Salcedo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Salcedo lands an overhand right.
Alves smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Alves drops his hands for a split second and Salcedo immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Alves face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Salcedo follows up with a right hand that knocks Alves into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jose Salcedo!
Jose Salcedo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
