Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Goodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Knox gets caught flat footed, as Goodman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Knox has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Goodman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Knox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Goodman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knox has his foot on Goodman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Goodman works his way back into a safe position though.
Goodman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Knox should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Goodman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
