Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jet Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fedor Emelianenko !
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Emelianenko looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Chan shoots in and drives through. Emelianenko sprawls well.

Chan pushes Emelianenko up against the cage in a clinch.
Emelianenko should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Emelianenko is trying to push Chan away but Chan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Chan gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Chan controlling the action here.
Chan missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Chan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Emelianenko to stand up.
Emelianenko swings for the body but Chan moves out of range.
Emelianenko moves to clinch but Chan breaks away
and Chan counters with a nice low kick that buckles Emelianenko 's knee momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chan shoots for a takedown but Emelianenko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Chan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Emelianenko tries to avoid it but Chan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Emelianenko to the ground. Emelianenko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jet Chan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A solid body kick from Chan.

Chan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Chan stalling.
Chan works his way into full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Chan looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Chan controlling from mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chan working for a submission but Emelianenko is keeping him at bay.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Chan stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Chan shoots in but Emelianenko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chan is defended easily by Emelianenko .

Chan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Chan pulls guard successfully.
Emelianenko is looking to work some ground and pound but Chan has wrist control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chan pulls Emelianenko in close to prevent any damage.

Emelianenko has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Chan to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Emelianenko is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Chan pulls down on the head and he's put Emelianenko to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jet Chan!
