Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Danny McNulty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miranda Ponder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Danny McNulty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Miranda Ponder!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Ponder or perhaps it was just good defense by McNulty which made him look bad.

McNulty has managed to clinch.
Ponder drops down looking for an ankle pick but McNulty pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ponder fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Danny McNulty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miranda Ponder.
Nice takedown defense from McNulty. No joy for Ponder on that attempt.
Ponder tries to score a power double leg takedown but McNulty sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ponder somewhat.
McNulty leaves Ponder with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

McNulty shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McNulty tries to free his leg and advance position but Ponder is retaining full guard.
McNulty engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
McNulty stops Ponder from standing up.

Ponder pushes McNulty off and gets back to his feet.
Ponder fails with a takedown attempt.

McNulty manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ponder on his heels. He'll look to pass Ponder's guard now, I'm sure.
Ponder wants to stand but McNulty is controlling the position.
McNulty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ponder swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ponder is looking to stand up but McNulty isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McNulty tries to free his leg and advance position but Ponder is retaining full guard.

Ponder wants to stand and escape but McNulty is having none of it.
Ponder looks winded!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
McNulty would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ponder is trying hard to land a takedown here. McNulty sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ponder fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McNulty avoids it really well and circles away.
Ponder misses with a takedown
and McNulty counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ponder is trying to get back to his feet.
McNulty tries to move to mount but Ponder blocks the move with his legs.
Ponder wants to get back to his feet but McNulty drags him back down.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Ponder explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

McNulty lands a left and a right that send Ponder crashing to the mat, dazed. McNulty thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Ponder is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McNulty lands a huge takedown. Ponder is out but the ref is slow to react and McNulty lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Ponder lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
