And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johny Walker!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Walker misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Walker won't be happy with that.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Silva is trying to move to mount but Walker reverses beautifully and ends up in Silva's guard.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Walker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silva manages to avoid it.
Walker thows a body shot but no joy.
Walker falls off balance throwing a combination

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Walker fights it but they end up in guard.

Silva working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Walker pulls Silva in close to prevent any damage.
Silva postures up in Walker's guard and throws a big left but Walker blocks it.
Walker wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Silva connects with a nice short shot to Walker's temple.

Silva is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walker keeps working.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Walker moves into full guard.
Walker wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Walker swings for the body but Silva moves out of range.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Silva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Walker.
Silva dives in for a single leg takedown but Walker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Walker throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Silvas head.

Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Walker smiles and moves away.

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Walker's guard.
Silva prevents Walker from getting back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Silva wants to pass the guard but Walker is keeping the position.
Silva cracks Walker with a solid left hand.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Silva turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Gigant Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Walker is looking for a sweep.
Walker is trying to control Silva's posture but Silva avoids it.

Walker is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.

Walker is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Silva off and has taken his back!
Silva tries to roll but Walker sticks to his back.

Walker has decided that he can't make progress quickly enough from the back position and has rather unusually decided to stand up from the dominant position. Obviously he's going to be looking for the knockout on the feet here!
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Walker which made him look bad.
Walker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Silva moves away.
Silva tries to clinch up but Walker circles away and keeps his distance.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Silva wants to take the fight to the mat but Walker manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Silva is working for takedown but Walker is calmly controlling the position for now.
Walker stops a takedown attempt from Silva.
Walker has had enough of the clinch but Silva keeps him there for the moment.

Silva jumps into guard, dragging Walker to the mat.
Walker wants to get up but he can't break Silva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Silva is working an open guard so Walker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Gigant Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Silva goes for a double leg but Walker avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Walker continues to drive forward.

Walker is in a horrible position here. Silva smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Walker manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Silva looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Silva is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Walker to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Walker wants to hit a switch here but Silva passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Walker there!

Walker is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Walker might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Silva haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Walker tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Silva jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Walker is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Walker and Silva has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Silva is working to tighten is grip on Walker's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Walker has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Silva is really squeezing tight and eventually Walker passes out! Silva breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Gigant Silva was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
