Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rasputin Briar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gatete Omondi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gatete Omondi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rasputin Briar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gatete Omondi!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Omondi feints and as Briar raises his hands in defense, Omondi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Briar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Briar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Briar keeping moving, preventing Omondi from controlling successfully.
Omondi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Briar haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Omondi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Omondi passes Briar's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Briar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Briar tries to get out of the position.

Omondi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Briar can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Omondi with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Omondi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Briar is looking to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Omondi unloads with some shots from mount but Briar bucks and avoids them well.

Omondi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Briar reaches up to try and control the position but Omondi seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Briar rolls and tries to escape and now Omondi has his back!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Omondi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Omondi looking to break Briar's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Briar remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Omondi will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gatete Omondi dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Omondi shoots in and drives through. Briar sprawls well.

Rasputin Briar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gatete Omondi.
Omondi closes the distance looking to clinch
and Briar counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Omondi shoots in and drives through. Briar sprawls well.
Briar uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Omondi has time to react.
Briar lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A swing and a miss from Briar.
Omondi closes the distance but Briar moves to the side
and Briar counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Omondi is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Briar connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Omondi's hands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Omondi fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Omondi.
Omondi shoots in looking for a takedown. Briar tries to sprawl out of it but Omondi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Briar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Omondi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Briar lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Omondi misses with a takedown attempt - Briar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rasputin Briar is winning the standup battle so far.
Briar circles away from the clinch attempt
letting Briar counter with a right hand.
Omondi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gatete Omondi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Omondi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Briar lands a glancing blow to the side of Omondi's head.


It looks like Gatete Omondi has been cut.
Omondi closes the distance but Briar moves to the side
and Briar counters with a huge left! Omondi is in big trouble! He's backing up but Briar isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Omondi from any more damage. A dominating finish by Briar!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rasputin Briar!
Our winner, Rasputin Briar, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
