PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Khal TD (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Machine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). TD kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Give it all. George Machine has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Machine!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machine changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. TD tries to avoid it but Machine manages to keep hold of a leg and drag TD to the ground. TD escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
TD tries to clinch up.
Machine misses with a takedown attempt - TD sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
TD does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
TD throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Machine shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says TD as he avoids it easily.
Khal TD has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Machine.
The fight stays on the outside here - TD looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Machine is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. TD can't fight it off and eventually Machine manages to take the fight to the floor. TD looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Machine is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Machine tries to reverse the position but TD maintains control.
Machine tries to hold on but TD postures up.
TD trying to control but Machine is having none of it.

TD postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Machine looks a forlorn figure.
TD lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

TD postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Machine is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of TD, into his guard.
