The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dong closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dong in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Menez is looking for a sweep.

Menez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Dong off and has taken his back!

Menez is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dong defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Menez slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Dong throws an elbow that misses. Menez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dong's guard. Nice move by Menez!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Menez passes into half guard.

Dong wants to get back to his feet.

Menez is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Dong to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
