Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anthony States (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexndr Wennberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexndr Wennberg is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
States closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wennberg circles away.
Wennberg leaves States with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wennberg stuffs the takedown attempt from States. States gets slowly back to his feet.

States rushes Wennberg and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wennberg throws a series of punches but States moves out of range.
States throws the kick towards the body but Wennberg avoids it.

States fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wennberg sprawls well initially but States persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Wennberg pushes States off looking to stand but States dives back in and keeps control.
States landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Wennberg manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. States keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

States has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wennberg throws a strike but States rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Wennberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with States. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wennberg is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Wennberg is pushing States's head away, looking to escape. States manages to hold on to the position though.
States scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Wennberg to see if he's OK.

The referee asks States politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. States prefers to stall for the moment though.
