Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Phil Tomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lianm Eddson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phil Tomas has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lianm Eddson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eddson tries to clinch but Tomas is having none of it.
Eddson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tomas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tomas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Tomas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Eddson's waist but Eddson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tomas off to one side.
Eddson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tomas swivels and escapes.

Eddson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Tomas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Eddson is stalling in the full guard.
Eddson wants to stand but Tomas is controlling his posture from full guard.
Tomas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Eddson's guard.

Eddson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tomas is controlling him.
Eddson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Eddson working for submissions but it's allowed Tomas to get to half guard.
Tomas looks to land a strike but Eddson avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Tomas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Tomas gets to his feet. Eddson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Eddson tries for a takedown but Tomas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Eddson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tomas to the mat! Tomas manages to get full guard.

Tomas has his foot on Eddson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Eddson works his way back into a safe position though.
Tomas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Tomas throws his legs up looking for a submission but Eddson uses it to pass to side control.
Eddson is chipping away with strikes.
Tomas wants to control but Eddson postures up.

Eddson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tomas, who protects the arm well.
Eddson wants to control but Tomas is keeping him busy.
Tomas is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Eddson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tomas keeps working.
Tomas wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tomas is holding Eddson down, trying to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

You can see the frustration on Tomas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

What's Tomas going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Eddson is working to tighten is grip on Tomas's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Tomas has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Eddson is really squeezing tight and eventually Tomas passes out! Eddson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
