Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Silva's head.
Silva misses with a looping right.
Silva has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Silva catches Cortez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Silva lands with an uppercut that bounces Cortez off the cage and back into range.
Silva misses with an uppercut.
Cortez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silva is trying to stand up here but Cortez is controlling him well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cortez is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.

Cortez slips under a jab from Silva.
Eduardo Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cortez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Cortez smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Cortez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Silva gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Cortez.
Cortez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Silva.

Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cortez.
Silva misses with a wild combination.
Silva connects with a body shot that sends Cortez's belly button to the back.
Silva connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cortez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Silva is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Cortez like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Cortez from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eduardo Silva!
Eduardo Silva bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
