Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Desperado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aaron Andrews!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anthony Desperado!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andrews fails with a takedown attempt.

Andrews throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Desperado tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Andrews is in Desperado's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Andrews goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Desperado has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Andrews but great work by Desperado.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

It looks like Anthony Desperado has been cut.
Andrews fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Andrews closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Desperado is trying to get back to half guard.
Andrews content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Andrews remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Andrews tries to score a power double leg takedown but Desperado sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Andrews somewhat.

Desperado feints and then cracks Andrews's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Andrews down.
Andrews dives in for a single leg takedown but Desperado sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Desperado lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Andrews or not.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Desperado leaves Andrews with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Aaron Andrews seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Andrews shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Desperado as he avoids it easily.

Andrews pushes down on Desperado's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Andrews looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Andrews perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Anthony Desperado has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Andrews wants to lay and pray for a moment but Desperado keeps working.
Andrews wants to pass to mount but Desperado is defending the position.
Desperado is refusing to be controlled, as Andrews sits in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Desperado has a hand on Andrews's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Andrews takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aaron Andrews.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Andrews, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Aaron Andrews decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
